Wedding locations: 3 couples get married, renew their vows at Willis Tower Chicago, formerly Sears Tower, on Valentine’s Day weekend

CHICAGO (WLS) — Three couples took their love to new heights Sunday morning atop Willis Tower.

Skydeck Chicago held its annual Love on the Ledge wedding ceremonies, as couples said “I do” with the Chicago skyline as the backdrop.

Lots of love was in the air with the ultimate celebration of Valentine’s Day weekend.

Three couples had the backdrop of the city behind them as they renewed their vows or got married on the ledge of Skydeck Chicago.

“It means the world to me; it’s like our crew, and I’m glad they can join us that day, and I’m really excited,” said Juanita LaDonna Watson.

Each ceremony lasted approximately 15 minutes.

“She deserves it; we met in town, we’re both from town, born and bred. It was great, less stress,” Paris Parnell Adams said.

All couples applied for this special day and gave a reason why they should be chosen.

The three winning couples received the gift of a one-night stay at a nearby hotel with free breakfast before their big day on Sunday.

Each couple had eight guests who could view the ceremony.

A couple brought him back to where it all began.

“I proposed to her about two years ago on the ledge. So that helped us, you know, bring back more memories,” Ashley and Stephanie Galarza said.

Another couple rekindled the magic, renewing their vows after nearly 20 years together. And this time, Mike and Amanda’s children were able to witness this special moment.

“For me it’s just amazing. The view up there and I hate heights. It’s just wonderful,” they said.
